Tourism Minister to be appointed soon: Chairman Prachanda

The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said that he would take the initiative to open Ratna Temple and Himagriha of Pokhara for the public. The heritage sites were under the then Royal Palace but now under the Nepal Trust but are yet to be made open for public.

Speaking in a programme organized by the Pokhara Tourism Council here today, chairman Dahal argued that they carried touristic importance and could help collect revenue if made public.

In a response to the tourism entrepreneurs’ question on the immediate appointment of the Tourism Minister in federal government, the former Prime Minister said that discussions to this end were ongoing and a decision would be taken soon.
